New Hartford (WSYR-TV) – A sex offender with warrants for his arrest in several states was arrested in Chadwicks, according to police.
Alvin Riddle, 56, was found in the small community outside of Utica living under an alias.
New Hartford Police say Riddle had warrants for his arrest issued from Arizona, Washington state, and North Carolina for failing to register as a sex offender.
According to police, Riddle set up a residence in Chadwicks in late August 2012.
The US Marshals obtained an arrest warrant for Riddle from the federal court in Syracuse.
Along with US Marshals and New Hartford Police, the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center participated in Riddle’s arrest.
According to police, Riddle was convicted in 1993 in Arkansas on a charge of Carnal Abuse of an 8-year-old. Police say he has an extensive violent criminal history.
He could face up to 10 years in prison.
