Sheriff’s Deputy stricken with cancer passes away

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A deputy stricken with cancer has passed away, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Thursday.

Deputy Dan Grover was suffering from colon cancer.

He passed away on Wednesday evening.

Grover was a decorated member of the Central New York law-enforcement community. In 2011, he was recognized for his actions taken during a burglary in progress.

Details regarding his funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
