Moisture trapped in the lower atmosphere from last night’s rain is bubbling up this midday. This will mean the risk of a shower or two through the early part of the afternoon. However, as drier air builds in the last half of the afternoon those clouds will begin to fall apart.
A nice day is expected on Thursday as high pressure temporarily builds in to central New York behind the departing low. Our next weather feature is another cold front and it will get closer to central New York on Friday. Ahead of the front, winds will turn into the southwest which means we will warm again into the mid 80s. It looks like we could end up with scattered showers and thunderstorms at any time during the day on Friday.
Behind the cold front will be a very noticeable change to our weather for the weekend. This change will be cooler weather, more specifically a string of 70 degree weather that could carry into the early part of the following week. For central New York, it will be the coolest weather in almost two months.
