Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- More than 100 inner city kids got to kick the soccer ball around Wednesday with some of Syracuse’s best players. The Silver Knights
held a free soccer clinic through the “Tillies Touch
” program. The non-profit organization collects donated sports equipment for children who need assistance in Central New York. The program’s founder says that soccer has been the biggest attraction for the kids lately and learning from the best makes it even more special.
“Any professional soccer player for these guys is just amazing and to be standing next to one and getting tips on how to play soccer is just incredible,” said Founding Father of Tillies Touch Dale Johnson.
“I used to play soccer in my country and my grandfather, back in my country, taught me how to play soccer. So that’s why I like soccer,” said Keshab Bhattarai.
The kids were also given soccer equipment and tickets to the Silver Knights’ next game.
