Syracuse, NY (WSYR-TV) - The CNY Chill, a local synchronized skating team, took the outdoor ice at the State Fairgrounds Monday night to practice. They are headed to the Empire State Games this weekend.

The outdoor ice rink was set up for the big Syracuse Crunch hockey game on Saturday but the figure skaters are helping break the rink in.

"Its exciting for us," said Carolynn Quinn, coach of the CNY Chill. "Its beautiful out, not snowing which we're happy about but its exciting for the kids and a different place to practice."

The skaters give the outdoor ice rink a big thumbs up. The Syracuse Crunch will take on the Binghamton Senators on the rink Saturday.
