Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Ticket sales for the “One World Concert” and lecture featuring the Dalai Lama went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Monday – and it looks like there are still some tickets available.
However, tickets at the $55 dollar range, putting in you 300 level, may be the best you can get now.
Some of the people NewsChannel 9 spoke to just after tickets went on sale say they didn’t want to take any chances of missing out on an event like this.
Music fan Suzanne Sirianni told NewsChannel 9, “I’m a big music fan and I love any kind of inspirational, motivational events, so this is what, two for the price of one.”
“I think it’s awesome. It’s going to be really enjoyable, especially since they’re writing songs for the event. That’s really nice to see,” said Robert Olmstead, who’s really excited to go.
A gathering of such huge artists singing a special song for the Dalai Lama has never occurred before, according to the Dalai Lama’s personal peace emissary who is helping organize a common ground for peace. And it’s certainly one of the biggest and most unique events ever held in Central New York.
Delores Hnat is looking forward to the event. She said, “It’s fabulous. I just got back from Chicago and I was telling everybody there I was going to see the Dalai Lama.”
Joe Shedd bought 10 tickets. He says this will be the first concert he’s ever attended with his students and he’s looking forward to it.
And that’s the main point of the two-day event: to bring people from all walks of life together on common ground.
The event takes place on October 9 at Syracuse University.
