CICERO, NY (WSYR-TV) - The Stanley Cup was in Cicero on Sunday, thanks to an essay written by a 10-year-old hockey player from Fulton.
Noah Delaney, who plays on the Fulton Raiders hockey team, won the 2nd Annual “Day With The Cup” national essay contest
Delaney wrote a compelling story about his father's deployment to Afghanistan and the impact hockey has on their relationship and how hockey helps get him through “the tough times.”
On Sunday, the NHL brought the Stanley Cup to Twin Ice Rinks in Cicero, where Delaney and 40 of his closest friends and family had the opportunity to take a close-up look at the cup and take pictures with it.
Delaney told us he can't wait to tell his dad all about it.
"That it was awesome seeing the Stanley Cup,” said Delaney.
The essays in the “Day With The Cup” contest were voted on by hockey fans on Facebook.
