State Senate passes animal abuse bill
Albany (WSYR-TV) – The New York State Senate has passed a bill requiring those convicted of animal abuse to register their name and address with the Division of Criminal Justice Services and undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
They would also be banned from owning pets again.
The bill is one of several changes animal advocates rallied for in Albany recently.
The legislation will now advance to the Assembly for a vote.
