Statewide Tax reform meetings comes to Syracuse
Syracuse (WSYR-TV)- Local businesses will have the chance to speak out about what New York State can do to help them grow.
The Senate Finance Committee is hosting five public hearings on how New York’s tax policies can be changed to reduce the burden on taxpayers and to help businesses create more jobs.
One of the hearings was held Thursday morning in Syracuse at the Common Council Chambers at Syracuse City Hall.
State lawmakers plan to record all of the commentary during the hearings and say they'll develop tax reform proposals that have a chance of becoming policy.
The next hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12 in Buffalo.
