Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The staff at Fowler High School had a surprise on Wednesday morning when they found a backhoe had crashed into the building. The damage was very minor.

Syracuse Police say the backhoe was stolen overnight from a work site next to the high school and crashed through a chain link fence before hitting the building. The collision dislodged several bricks. Police do not know how the vehicle was stolen.

Classes at Fowler do not begin until Thursday.
