Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - It was quite the accomplishment for a group of students at Syracuse's LeMoyne Elementary School, and thanks to it they're riding into the summer in style.

Wednesday, students packed into the gym to celebrate the last day of school and seven of their classmates, who got quite the end of the year present: all seven were given brand new bikes as a reward for their perfect attendance record during the school year.

“It's really exciting because my old bike, I can’t ride it anymore, now I have a new bike to replace it,” says DyeRin Gareau, one of the winners.

Awarding the bikes has been a tradition at the school, now into its 12th year.
