Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- New research supports an important message about teen driving. The more passengers in a car, the more likely the driver will take risks.

AAA studied 16 and 17-year-old drivers who were involved in fatal crashes. They found that drivers were 14 percent more likely to speed when they had two or more passengers in the car than if they were driving alone.

They also found that teen drivers were more likely to be driving after 11 p.m. with more passengers in the car.

And finally, the use of alcohol became more likely with more people in the car.
