Suburban Rochester teen who killed his father and brothers in fire found guilty on all charges
Rochester (WSYR-TV/WROC-TV) – A 16-year-old in the Rochester-area suburb of Webster who killed his father and two brothers in a fire was found guilty on all charges on Thursday.
Michael Pilato was convicted of charges including murder, attempted murder, and arson.
In December 2011, Pilato burned down his family’s home on Cardile Drive in Webster.
The defense had conceded throughout the trial that he started the fire, but that he suffered from extreme emotional disturbance.
Prosecutors have maintained that he executed a deliberate, calculated plan.
The boy is scheduled to be sentenced on July 24.
