Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A suspect the Sheriff’s Office believes is connected to a 2010 carjacking near the Onondaga Nation was arrested on a warrant Wednesday morning.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Jeffrey Smoke of 270 Hemlock Rd., town of Onondaga, and an accomplice car jacked a woman at gunpoint in the 100 block of Conklin Ave. on Dec. 14, 2010.
Smoke’s accomplice, 32-year-old Thomas Lowe, is serving a sentence in relation to the incident.
Smoke was charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, and grand larceny in the third degree, all felonies, as well as menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
He’s also facing a charge of harassment in the second degree in an unrelated matter.
Smoke is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.
