Cicero (WSYR-TV) - A suspended Cicero Police officer pleaded not guilty to assaulting a ten-year-old boy in North Syracuse Village Court Monday evening.
The police report says that Sgt. John Baldini attacked a ten-year-old boy who threw a golf ball-sized piece of dough at his head inside Commisso's Pizza Shop. Sgt. Baldini allegedly grabbed the boy by the throat so he could not breathe, put him in a headlock, pushed him up against the wall, dragged him on the floor and carried him by his hoodie into the kitchen where he dropped him on the floor. The boy was bruised and red around his neck, armpits and chest areas.
Sgt. Baldini's attorney, John Stevens, claims this is an issue of money. Stevens says the parents of the child allegedly assaulted have filed a notice of claim against the Town of Cicero and is also suing Baldini. Both suits were filed last month.
Baldini is next due in court during February.
