Lafayette (WSYR-TV) – A “suspicious death” investigation has now been ruled a homicide in Onondaga County after a woman’s body was found in a ravine early Monday morning.

Authorities were called to the ravine in the 2900 block of Webb Road in the town of LaFayette at around 4 a.m., where they found the body of 53-year-old Patricia Gryczka, of Geddes.

The Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office ruled Gryczka’s death a homicide Monday night.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives found Gryczka’s home had been burglarized and her vehicle – a 2003 Dodge Neon – was missing. Gryczka's vehicle was later found on West Onondaga Street, near Velasko Road in Syracuse, authorities said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Further details will be released at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
