Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) provides a range of health and wellness services. A brand new facility will enable them to help even more people struggling with addiction.

It’s where you go for help to handle alcohol or drug addition. It’s also a place for those who have been court-ordered to get help after a DWI. 400 patients already stop in for counseling and services per week. One of those people, who’s already gone through the alcohol rehab program says the new facility should encourage more people to stop in for help.

“The last two months before I even started this process, there wasn’t a day that I was sober, or a moment really,” explained Nathan Faudree, who went through the program at SBH.

Faudree checked himself into rehab two years ago.

“When I first came to the program, I was a person who had to drink everyday. It's just the way I lived my life. The way I thought. But by doing this program, by going through and having an open mind to learn something, I'm becoming a person who doesn't have to drink,” Faudree explained.

SBH built the new facility to encourage anyone dealing with addiction, like Nathan, to begin a life of recovery.

“It was an opportunity for us to build a state-of-the-art clinic that would give people an environment more conducive to the services we’re trying to deliver and really have an impact on them making them more comfortable when they’re here,” said SBH President Jeremy Klemanski.

Along with counseling, the facility has a child care center, on-site physicians and a finance center to help with insurance claims. The new services will allow the clinic to see more patients, which will make for many more success stories.

“It’s been a God-send. I mean literally, it saved my life,” Faudree said.
