(WSYR-TV, Syracuse) A record high temperature for Syracuse was set earlier this afternoon as we hit 70 degrees.  The old record was 68 degrees set back in 1941.

This evening, however, our weather will change. A cold front will move through with some steady rain this evening. Parts of central New York will pick upwards of half an inch of rain and temperatures will quickly drop close to 50 degrees. After midnight, the rain will end and even cooler air will move in.

Tomorrow will be a much colder day as we return to more seasonable December weather. Temperatures will be in the 30s all day and northwesterly winds will be rather gusty. That will make it feel like it in the 20s during the afternoon.

The cooler, windy weather will be accompanied by lake effect snow showers.
