Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The stage was wrapped and tents were closed in Clinton Square while organizers of the Syracuse Irish Festival waited for a storm to pass.
Early events were put on hold as a severe thunderstorm watch took effect through early Saturday afternoon.
After consulting with police and emergency personnel, organizers cancelled a morning mass. There were no musical performances between 12:00-3:00 p.m.
Most of the performers scheduled were asked to shorten their playlist, so each group could still fit into the schedule when the festival reopened at 3:30 p.m.
The featured acts of "The Elders" and "Enter the Haggis" were told to prepare for a full show.
