Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police have identified a 26-year-old woman who was shot and killed on the city’s South Side late Tuesday night.
Police responded to West Corning Avenue around 10:45 p.m. and found Tierra Newton shot dead at the scene.
They say she was standing in the street when she was shot.
Police are asking the public for their help in the investigation.
Anyone who has information on the homicide should call (315) 442-5222. Another shooting occurred on Wednesday morning on the city’s East Side
That shooting – which was not fatal – occurred on Bruce Street near Newton’s home address.
Police say they are looking into whether the two incidents are connected.
