Syracuse Police arrest pedestrian after loaded handgun is found

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Police stopped a man for walking in the middle of South Geddes Street around 12:30 Saturday morning and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Police later discovered the gun had a defaced serial number.

20-year old Kevin Binet of Syracuse was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and pedestrian traffic infractions for failing to use the sidewalk and failing to walk facing traffic.

Binet was sent to the Justice Center and is set to be arraigned on Saturday.
