Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are investigating a Key Bank robbery that occurred on Thursday morning.

The bank location is at 1518 West Genesee Street across the street from Rosie’s bar.

A NewsChannel 9 photographer observed an open bag of cash near the bank.

Police say the suspect entered the bank shortly before 10 a.m. and handed the teller a threatening note demanding money.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male. During the incident he was reportedly wearing a dark winter coat, jeans, a hood, and a scarf across his face.

He reportedly ran away through the front door and crossed the street before moving behind a muffler business.

No one was injured during the incident. The suspect did not display a weapon.

The robbery was the city’s second in two days. On Wednesday, Leonard Stephens of Canastota was arrested on charges that he robbed an M&T Bank location on South Salina Street in the morning.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call police at (315) 442-5302.
