Syracuse Police investigating downtown bank robbery

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are looking for a man who was captured on surveillance video allegedly robbing a downtown bank.

The robbery occurred around 8:55 a.m. at the KeyBank location at 201 South Warren St.

The suspect is a white male between 40 and 50 years old and more than 6 feet tall. During the incident, he wore an orange Syracuse sweatshirt and a black baseball hat. Both the sweatshirt and the hat were thrown away near the bank.

He was also wearing blue jeans and carrying a dark backpack with an SU emblem.

According to police, the suspect gave a teller a note in which he threatened using a weapon during the robbery. Police did not indicate whether or not he displayed a weapon.

After the teller gave him money, the suspect ran away from the bank on Washington Street toward Montgomery Street.
