Syracuse University student critical after being struck by car

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A 21-year-old woman who was struck by a car in the Syracuse University area is in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Syracuse University student Maria Sanfeliu-Cruz, of Puerto Rico.

Sanfeliu-Cruz was hit by a 2002 Mercury four-door sedan in the 700 block of Comstock Avenue at around 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

She was transported to the hospital with a serious head injury.

The driver of the car has been identified as 32-year-old Hussein Mumin, of Syracuse.

The accident is still under investigation and no tickets have been issued at this time.
