Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - A Syracuse firefighter is out of the hospital and going to be ok, after being rescued during an early morning house fire. Ray Duncanson was in the third floor attic when his air pack ran out of air. Fellow firefighters were able to safely pull Duncanson from the window.Duncanson's air tank is being examined, but there has not yet been an explanation for what, if anything, went wrong with it.
The first started at 4:00 a.m., near the corner of South Salina Street and East Newell Street. This fire was in an empty home and no one else was hurt. The cause is still under investigation, but investigators say it was probably an accident.
