Syracuse man arrested for store robbery
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Syracuse police say they've arrested a 31-year-old man for a convenience store robbery.
Police say the robbery happened Tuesday night at a Byrne Dairy store.
A store employee told police a man came into the store and demanded cash. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police say an officer searching the area stopped at a nearby boarding house and saw a man matching the suspect's description.
The man, 31-year-old Christopher Staats, let officers into his apartment where they reportedly saw the money from the robbery on a bed.
A store employee later identified Staats as the robber.
Staats is charged with third degree robbery and is scheduled to arraigned Wednesday in Syracuse City Court.
