Syracuse man arrested in North Side slashing, stabbing incident
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police arrested a suspect early Friday morning after an incident in which a man was slashed across the throat and stabbed in the abdomen in a North Side neighborhood.
According to police, an argument between 42-year-old Shane DeMoff and 46-year-old Ronald Byrne in an apartment at 804 Kirkpatrick St. escalated around 12:30 a.m.
They say DeMoff slashed and stabbed Byrne, seriously injuring him. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital. Police do not believe his injuries are life threatening.
Police found DeMoff several blocks away and arrested him.
He was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
DeMoff was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Syracuse City Court.
