Watertown (WSYR-TV) – State Police say an investigation into a teenager who had been reported missing in Syracuse led them to charging a man with promoting prostitution in Watertown.
State Police charged Eric Oliver, 29, of 505 McBride St., Syracuse, with promoting prostitution in the second degree, a class C felony, after arresting him in Watertown on Thursday.
According to State Police, the mother of a 15-year-old girl who resides in Syracuse reported that her daughter was engaged in prostitution in Watertown and Syracuse. The girl had been reported to Syracuse Police as missing in June 2012. She was also wanted on a warrant for her arrest.
She was located and taken into custody at noon on Arsenal Street in Watertown.
Police say Oliver was profiting from the prostitution of a person under the age of 16.
He was arrested and taken to Jefferson County Jail without bail.
