Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The city of Syracuse is a top 20 finalist in a nationwide competition meant to inspire mayors to come up with innovative ideas to improve city life and the city needs your help. All you need to do is vote online and the city could win $5 million.

A video on the Huffington Post website shows all the different ideas on how to solve major challenges unique to each of the cities.

Syracuse’s idea is to harness the creative and business potential of the immigrant and refugee population. The city hopes to reinvent a group of vacant buildings on North Salina into something they would call “World Market Square" – a hub for local business with a global influence on the Northside.

The square would include a marketplace, a public space for community gatherings and a center for business development programs, which the city hopes would drive economic growth into the surrounding areas.

Voting ends tonight at midnight. To cast your vote, CLICK HERE.
