Syracuse police credit surveillance video and help from the public in solving a murder case. Wednesday night Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler announced detectives had arrested Anthony Hopper, 25, of Syracuse on charges of second-degree murder and first and second-degree assault.
Hopper is charged with the shooting death of Rodney Maddux, 23, September 30. Maddox was gunned down while trying to break up a fight outside the B&B Lounge on South Ave.
Police released
surveillance video from a camera outside the lounge of a man and a vehicle they believe were involved in the shooting that killed Maddux and wounded two others. Once the video was released, Chief Fowler said police received a flood of calls. “I got to tell you, had it not been for that, I don't believe that we would've been able to solve this as quickly as we had been.”
