Syracuse, New York - (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse police are investigating a homicide that happen around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning at South Salina Street and Calthrop Avenue at the I-81 on ramp. 

Police have identified the victim as 18-year-old Mahliek Starling of Syracuse.  Investigators say Starling was shot while riding in a car at the intersection.  Starling was driven to University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police say shots were fired from another vehicle into the car Starling was riding in, striking the victim.

Anyone with any information on the homicide should call Syracuse police at 442-5222.
