Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Two Syracuse Police officers were involved in an accident while responding to a call at around 4:15 Monday afternoon.

The officers – who were responding to a complaint involving an armed suicidal person on Herbst Avenue -- were riding together in the marked patrol car when they were hit by a Dodge van on Teall Avenue.

Neither the driver of the van, nor the officers were injured in the crash. However, the driver of the van was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

No tickets were issued.

The complaint the officers were responding to ended without incident, authorities said.
