Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse’s official holiday tree arrived in Clinton Square Monday morning.

This year’s evergreen comes from the Wegmans property at the corner of Thompson Road and James Street.

Crews cut down the tree and hauled it onto a flatbed truck for the trek downtown.

The tree will be decorated and lit on Friday, November 23 – the day after Thanksgiving – during the “Holiday in the Square” celebration.
