Teen arrested for falsely reporting a burglary
Sennett (WSYR-TV) -- A 16-year-old boy is accused of falsely reporting a robbery at his Sharon Drive home in the town of Sennett Monday afternoon.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the teen reported an intruder had entered his home at around 3 p.m.
Investigators say the teen lied and made the whole story up.
The teen has been charged with falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor, and making a false written statement.
He was issued an appearance ticket.
The teen will not be identified because of his age.
