Teen shot, another stabbed in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police believe the shooting of a teen and the stabbing of another teen Friday night are connected.

According to investigators, 18-year old Tyshawn Keene was stabbed in the left arm and hand by a black male described as 5'8", 160 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Keene was taken to Upstate Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say 19-year old Johnny Edwards was shot in his upper right arm.

They tell us Edwards was not cooperative and left the scene. He was later taken to the hospital in a private car and has non-life threatening injuries.

Police were able to find shell casings in a vacant lot in the 100-block of Wood Avenue.
