Teenagers charged after taking man's cell phone
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Two teenagers are charged after what Syracuse Police described as a strong-arm robbery in the 100 block of Kinne Street.
The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. Friday.
Police said a 23-year-old man told them he was walking in the area when a young man asked him what time it was.
The victim took out his cell phone to check the time and the suspect grabbed the phone, according to police.
The victim and the suspect started to fight over the phone.
That is when another suspect came up and started kicking the victim until he dropped the phone.
The two suspects then ran off towards Teall Avenue.
Officers found them in the parking lot of Henninger High School.
One of the suspects was identified as 18-year-old Anthony Kennebrew of Syracuse.
The second suspect was identified as a 15 year old male from Syracuse.
Both are charged with the felony of Robbery in the Second Degree.
Kennebrew was taken to the Justice Center scheduled arraigned in Syracuse City Criminal Court.
The 15-year-old was taken to the Hillbrook Detention Facility and is scheduled to go to Family Court at a later date.
