Tentative trial date set on child pornography charges against accused killer David Renz
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- David Renz, the man accused of murdering a Liverpool librarian and raping a 10-year-old girl last month is expected to stand trial on child pornography charges in June.
Renz was indicted two weeks ago for possession and receipt of child pornography. He was arrested on the charges in January.
The 29-year-old was supposed to be wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet as part of a pre-trial release on the charges, but authorities say he removed the bracelet before abducting Lori Bresnahan and the 10-year-old little girl as they left a gymnastics class at Great Northern mall on March 14.
A grand jury is considering charges of rape, murder and kidnapping against Renz.
Renz is expected to stand trial on June 3, however, other legal action on a local or federal level could delay the start of the trial.
Renz is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
