Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- State Police have released their results of “Operation Hang-Up,” a crackdown on drivers talking and texting behind the wheel.

During the one week period, more than 2,600 cell phone tickets were issued to drivers across New York State and more than 460 were issued for texting while driving.

This year alone, more than 65,000 drivers were ticketed for using hand-held devices while driving.

If you’re caught, you could face a$150 fine and three points on your license.
