Time Warner phone service restored to hundreds of thousands of customers
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Time Warner customers across Central New York are no longer without phone service due to a widespread national outage, according to a company representative.
According to the company, an intermittent technical problem had cut off home phone service for as many as 800,000 homes, about 20 percent of all Time Warner customers on Sunday.
Service was restored to all customers overnight.
Public relations manager Joli Plucknette-Farmen forwarded the following statement regarding Sunday's outage: “Our engineering team is investigating the root cause of yesterday's outage which intermittently affected some of our phone customers. Our network operations center and engineers instantly responded to the service issue and quickly began repairs with all service restored to normal by 3:15am ET.”
