Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse’s Valley area saw the grand opening of a much-anticipated Tops grocery store on Tuesday.
The store opened in a plaza that once housed P&C.
Residents in the area of the Valley Plaza have not had an immediately available large-scale grocery store since 2009.
Tops officials claim the new store has added 120 jobs to the area.
Tops is also on pace to open a store in another well-known location. The Buffalo-based chain is in the process of refurbishing
the Pond Street Wegmans building in the city’s Northside area.
City officials say the Tops store on Pond Street should add about 80 jobs.
