Hastings (WSYR-TV) – Town of Hastings officials say they will conduct aerial spraying as planned on Friday night at 7 p.m.
According to Town Supervisor James Weatherup, the town will spray according to its initial plan, which included targeting the Hastings as well as the town of West Monroe.
Past attempts to spray have been foiled by procedural glitches and
unfavorable weather.
Oswego County announced on Wednesday that it would conduct its own spraying after announcing that it had discovered EEE in a pool of mosquitoes collected in Central Square.
After meeting with county officials, Weatherup said the county could spray as soon as Monday night and that it will target traditional breeding grounds including the Toad Harbor Swamp and Big Bay Swamp.
