Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A stretch of Interstate-81 that runs through Syracuse will be reduced to one lane, Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The effected section is between the Park Street Bridge and Division Street.
Because of this, the on-ramp from Bear Street will be closed to traffic. You can use a detour for the Bear Street on-ramp by heading south on Genant Street to I-81. This notice expires at 6am Wednesday.
From July 21-July 24, the I-81 Northbound Mainline will be reduced to one lane from the off ramp to I-690 east to Park Street between 8pm-6pm.
Also, I-81 on-ramps from Pearl, Butternut and State Streets will be closed.
Here are a few detours from the NYSDOT:
- Detour for Pearl Street on-ramp: proceed north on Pearl Street, turn right onto Salina Street, left onto N. State Street, left onto Lodi Street, right on to Court Street to I-81 north.
- Detour for Butternut/State Street on-ramps: north on State Street, turn left onto Lodi Street, left on to Court Street to I-81 north.
