Trump fires back after NY Attorney General files lawsuit
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Donald Trump's real estate school is under attack by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
Schneiderman is accusing the Trump Entrepreneur Institute of promising real estate students that they would get rich by providing expensive and mostly useless seminars.
The lawsuit totals $40 million.
Trump fired back today on ABC's “Good Morning America,” and accused the attorney general of playing politics.
“He's been looking into this thing for two years. He brings a lawsuit on Saturday afternoon right after he meets with President Obama. I think maybe it's a mini I.R.S.,” said Trump.
Schneiderman said the lawsuit was prompted by dozens of complaints from former students who contacted his office and says that Trump University isn't even a university and that teachers were never certified.
Trump says the lawsuit has no merit and that 98 percent of students gave his course an excellent rating.
