Yeah I have to agree with OJ Rox on this one. A one day skins game in October with no really big names is not going to bring in a lot of additional revenue. But a full tournament in August with , hopefully, some big names should bring in ALOT of additional revenue to the community. I can't imagine that all of the towns that host these tournaments year after year are doing it and not getting some financial gains.

The community did not benefit from the one day skins game which Eldrick played in but will with the August date when there are 144 players here during nice weather.

The community will not benefit from this! I repeat WILL NOT. Check with local businesses and they will verify it. Just a big smoke screen!!!!

Well, it was said years ago that upstate NY will go from a manufacturing community to a recreation community. Good luck, we need the jobs and the revenue.

My understanding is that the tournament brings in ALOT of money to central new york businesses BESIDES the turning stone. Hotels, restaurants, shopping, etc. So I'm not sure how supporting the tournament is supporting the Native Americans. Kind of seems like just shooting yourself in the foot. We need revenue here in central new york and I think this is a good way to get it.

They want all the benefits of living in the USA but not have to follow same laws and not pay taxes... NO TAXES... NO BENIFITS... boycott all Indian owned businesses until they pay like everyone else...no fire , police , food stamps, nothing... You want to be sovereign and not pay taxes then you are on your own...

Glad to see the new date ... playing in the cold rain probably convince them to move it up :o) BTW, Postman, while I think the Indians have sometimes overplayed the victim role, if it were not for their status, Turning Stone would not exist, and its thousands of jobs for local residents and spill-over business generated by visitors would not either. I don't have exact numbers, but I'll bet the benefits far outweigh any impact.

Time to stop supporting the Native Americans until they start paying taxes.

It's about time, with the prize money at $1,080,000 for the winner the tournament should get a permanent summer date !!!!
