Two charged with attempted burglary in Syracuse

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police have charged a 13-year-old boy and 25-year-old man with attempted burglary after an incident in the 1100 block of Cannon Street Friday morning.

According to police, a woman had called 911 to report that she was inside her home when two men had kicked in her door. The men ran when she yelled out that she was calling police.

The woman was able to provide responding officers with a description of the suspects, as well as the direction she saw them run off in.

Minutes later, police stopped two suspects matching the description in the 2800 block of Midland Avenue. They were subsequently arrested and charged.

The 25-year-old suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Deshond Jackson, of Syracuse, the other has not been identified due to his age. Both were charged with attempted burglary in the and criminal mischief.

Jackson was taken to the Justice Center and is expected to be arraigned on Saturday. The 13-year-old boy was turned over to a parent and will appear in Family Court at a later date.
