Webb, New York (WSYR-TV) - State Police in Herkimer say two passengers in a Chevy Blazer were thrown from the vehicle and killed when the driver lost control and rolled the SUV several times early Sunday morning.

Matthew Lewis, 22, of Eagle Bay, New York was driving the SUV north on State Route 28 in the Town of Webb just before 2:30 a.m. He too was thrown from the vehicle. Rescue crews flew him to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Matthew Girouard, 22, of Thendura, New York and Craig Sears, 24, of Eagle Bay were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still looking into what caused Lewis to lose control of the SUV.
