New Hartford, Oneida County (WSYR-TV) – Two people were injured in a three-car crash Tuesday evening in the Oneida County Town of New Hartford.

New Hartford police say at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Pasquale Marafioti, 59, of Clinton, was driving west on the Seneca Turnpike when he began to slow down due to traffic ahead of him. Police say he was then struck from behind by Mary Belfield, 50, of Oriskany Falls.

The crash caused Marafioti’s car to hit the vehicle in front of him, which was being driven by Diane Clute of Verona.

Marafioti was taken to a local hospital with a cut to his left eye and a leg injury, while Belfield was hospitalized with head and neck pain.

Clute was not hurt.

Belfield was ticketed for following too closely.
