Erwin (WETM-TV) - It seems Corning has started making the job reductions it announced it would make last month.

The steel workers local union president, Mike Walker, says 75 production workers from the diesel manufacturing facility in the town of Erwin received layoff slips Monday morning, effective next week.

Walker also says that around 25 workers will be laid off at the Erwin plant.
