Upstate Medical University opens downtown residence hall
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Doctors and dorm rooms are going hand-in-hand in Downtown Syracuse.
On Thursday, Upstate Medical University opened its new residence hall in the former Townsend Towers.
The new home for students at the medical school cost $28 million and has been named Geneva Tower.
The building features 139 apartments and opens amidst a surge in enrollment.
Upstate Medical University acquired the building from the Empire State Development Corporation two years ago.
