Utica man accused of sexually abusing young child

Utica (WSYR-TV) -- State Police have arrested a Utica man for sexually abusing a child under the age of 10.

26-year-old Justin R. Vangorder, of Keyes Road, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of sex abuse in the first degree.

Vangorder is a civilian accountant employed by the Defense Accounting and Finance Service in Rome.

A five month investigation by New York State Police and the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center led to Vangorder’s arrest.

Vangorder is being held at the Herkimer County Jail.
